PMI End Use Verification Tool
This process is used to assess the availability of malaria commodities at the end-user level, as well as provides a snapshot of how malaria is being diagnosed and treated at a given set of health facilities. It includes suggested approaches to sampling, key indicators to track and a tool to collect the key indicators. The End-Use Verification Process informs policy makers and planners on the effectiveness of the health system in making malaria commodities available to those who need them. It can be used to strengthen NMCP and MOH supervisory efforts, gather information to help satisfy audit requirements, verify the end use of commodities and provide timely, actionable information for the detection and correction of issues surrounding programmatic implementation. The End-Use Verification Process is designed to be implemented quarterly, with results available shortly after data collection in order to quickly allow corrective action to be taken.
Many countries are already implementing some approach to monitoring product availability at different levels within the health system. This guidance is intended to complement and strengthen such efforts rather than replace them.
This tool includes also guidance in English, and in French, as well as an Indicator names and formula guide.
