Summary of main features
- Purpose
- These guidelines have been written to assist national malaria control programs and partners who
will be supported by external and internal consultants to carry out their individual needs
assessment while also providing a general framework for cross-country comparisons/issues.
The needs assessment process will cover four key areas:
- General information: demographic and epidemiological profile, progress, estimated gap, and requirements
- Core interventions: prevention and case management
- Cross-cutting issues: epidemic/emergency control, advocacy/IEC/BCC, surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation
- Program management and health systems: program management, supply management, and health system strengthening
The process and documentation of the needs assessment will be driven by three main tools: the Needs Assessment Calculation Tool, the RBM Partnership Needs Assessment Report Template, and the Guidelines for RBM Partnership Needs Assessment
