Malaria tender information
The Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Procurement and Supply chain Management Working Group (PSM) tabled the issue of tender transparency in it's semi-annual meeting of February 2nd and 3rd 2009. As a first step, the PSM is supporting transparent tendering practices by making malaria tenders available centrally on the RBM partnership website. All publicly available malaria tenders are welcome to be included in the table below.
Descriptive fields:
- Product (LLIN, RDT, ACT, Insecticide, Hand pumps, Other)
- Tender Opening date
- Tender Closing date
- Country of destination
- Organization floating the tender
- Link to tender documentation, specifications etc
Example:
Sort by:
| {product} | {opening} | {closing} | {destinationCountry} | {organization} |
Each tender will be described with the fields above to allow for easy sorting/filtering and the full tender documentation will need to be linked to. To inform us of a tender that you feel should be added to the table, please send an email with the link to the tender (or the document itself), and if possible all the descriptive fields, to verstraetep@who.int.
Objectives:
Increasing transparency will allow for both wider competition and greater accountability.
Perspectives:
Increasing the transparency of tenders will also help the work of the Delay Monitoring PSM taskforce in tracking delays in tendering processes.
The additional information the above table will make available shall also complement to the LLIN bottleneck questionnaire results from the LLIN Scale-up Bottleneck PSM taskforce.
We expect the collection and availability of tenders will also help the early identification of bottlenecks, and therefore facilitate their early resolution.
Facilitating tender information should also support better short term forecasting and checking actual versus planned procurement within the work of the PSM Forecasting Taskforce.
